An unheard Love Story of a Mountain Man

Hello guys welcome to our new blog today I am here to tell you about the unheard love story of a ordinary indian man Who sacrificed his whole life for his love and society

What comes to your mind when I tell you about India , Many of you will say Taj Mahal right , Taj mahal is the symbol of love for whole world

But what if I say there is another story which shows how passionate love can be for someone

So without creating further hype let me tell you the story of Dashrath Manjhi

Dashrath Manjhi was a simple ordinary man born on 14 January 1929 in a poor family in Gehlaur village of Bihar state of India.

During his initial working days he worked in Coal Mine in Dhanbad , Later he came back to his hometown and started working there as a agricultural labour , There in his hometown he got married with Falguni Devi , After marriage they were living happily and also had kids ,

Their Village Gehlaur was a small village having no availability of basic resource like Hospitals , Schools , roads ,etc.

Falguni Devi (Wife of Dashrath Majhi) used to walk several km by foot to bring drinking water from pond and for that she has to pass through rocky and hilly areas everyday

One day Falguni Devi met with an accident when she was bringing water in a pottery and she fell from the mountain and got severely injured

As manjhi’s Village lacked basic medical facilities she needs to be taken to the nearest hospital which was 55 kms away from his village and there was not even a proper road , As a result Dashrath manjhi lost the battle of life and died due to delay in providing medical needs

Dashrath Manjhi was so Dusturbed with the incident , he lost the love of his life , his reason to be alive ,

He used to just think about his wife during day and nights and he realized that the reason he lost his wife was the dalay in Medical attention which is due to the distance of nearest hospital which was around 55 km away from his village

He realized that there was a Big mountain between his village and the Wazirpur (Village having Hospital), he thought that if A road is carved by cutting the mountain then the Village will be connected to various Basic needs ,

He tried to communicate to the concerned authorities regarding the issue but as expected no one supported him and thought he is gone mad.

After Several unsuccessful tries he decided that he will carve the road through the mountain all by himself so that no one’s love one can be suffering what Manjhi’s wife suffered

With Chisel and Hammer , He started carving whole mountain all along by himself , His friends , native villagers used to make fun of him by telling him that he is gone mad or nothing going to happen

Even his family used to convince him to stop this as this is useless he can’t do this alone this the government’s job but he never listened to this things and continued carving the mountain will all his effort

After 22 years (1960-1982) of hard work and constant determination and commitment Dasrath Manjhi Carved a 110 m Long 7.7 m deep and around 9 meter wide mountain all alone by himself and reduced distance between his Village and Wazirganj (Village which has medical facilities) from 45 kms to a mere 15 km

Dasrath Manjhi showed us the real power of love , passion and determination , He thought , he believed and he conquered

Today people often heard saying that ill die for you to their lover but people like dasrath manjhi took their love to another level where they made their love immortal

After this incident he got so much recognition and was awarded several awards for his work

From there he got the name as Mountain Man and that’s true indeed he is a mountain man the man with a solid rock type determination

Frankly Speaking for me this is by far the greatest love story where a man has sacrificed his whole life just for his wife and social deeds

Feels like love has a great power ,waiting for someone whom I can love so that I can get the most out of me (heheheh)

A Bollywood movie named Manjhi the Mountain Man released in 2015 portraying the life of Dashrath Manjhi
